2026 • Lets make investing in the future of fungal science a habit, not a one time event.
The Sclerotia Project began as a simple idea: build something lasting for fungal science, one small gift at a time.
In 2025, that idea worked. We raised $15,000, and more importantly, we showed that people are willing to support something patient, hopeful, and a little unusual. At 7% interest over 100 years, that fund could grow to about $13 million, giving future fungal science a powerful gift that keeps bearing fruit.
For 2026, we want to grow that circle. Not just more money, but more donors. More people willing to say yes to a mission they will never see the results of.
The point is not only to fund research someday. It is to help our community have optimism for the future of fungal science starting today.
What 2026 is about
